When Gail is not at the roping pen, he’s serving as the county commissioner for the eastern district of Comanche County, Oklahoma.
He’s usually joined at the ropings and rodeos with his son, Jared, who is also an avid roper. Jared is a #4 roper and has seen several wins in his roping career. Watch for him on the rodeo trail. When not roping, Jared operates his own backhoe business, T2T Backhoe, in the Lawton, Oklahoma area. He and his wife Candy have three beautiful children, Kendall, Kaylor, and the newest addition, Acen.
Gail also has a younger son, Chase, who resides in Edmond and a daughter, Kaylee, who lives in Stillwater. Chase works for Pace Butler and Kaylee works at The Buckle in Stillwater. Both have had extensive experience showing livestock and taking part in the FFA organization.
Ross, the youngest son, joined the world on November 4, 2005. He's fast becoming a little roper - he loves riding his ponies Petunia and Silver and roping the dummy. |

Gail Turner says he has been roping calves since he was “almost walking!” He joined the PRCA in 1980. From there he made the short-round in Cheyenne, Fort Worth, placed in San Antonio and made the Prairie Circuit Finals in calf roping and team roping several times through the past 20 years. Gail still holds his card and actively participates in several PRCA rodeos per year as time permits. Gail has been selling calf roping and team roping horses since the mid ‘70s. He finds it very fulfilling to meet new people and be able to help them find a horse that fits them, and then even more fulfilling to watch them compete and succeed on a T-N horse at the ropings and rodeos.
